Woodland Park is a compact Passaic County borough with a strong residential core, busy McBride Avenue and Route 46 business corridors, and an unusually large amount of nearby open space for a municipality of roughly three square miles. Garret Mountain Reservation and Rifle Camp Park give the borough a major recreation and visitor presence.
The community was incorporated in 1914 as West Paterson. Voters approved the name Woodland Park in 2008, and the change took effect January 1, 2009.
