Randolph is best experienced as an outdoor-recreation and community destination. The township's extensive park system, 16 miles of interconnected trails, municipal lake and beach, Brundage Park Playhouse, seasonal Fairy Trail, local museum and County College of Morris give visitors plenty to combine into a half-day, full-day or weekend itinerary.
Unlike a traditional downtown destination, Randolph spreads its attractions across roughly 21 square miles. A car is the easiest way to combine parks, dining, theater, college events and historic sites, although individual parks and trail networks are very walkable once you arrive.

Brundage Park & Brundage Park Playhouse
Brundage Park is one of Randolph's most complete recreation destinations. The township describes the complex as 232 acres with six lighted tennis courts, four lighted softball fields, basketball courts, playground, picnic pavilion, a four-mile paved walking/jogging route and the Brundage Park Playhouse.
The paved route provides a more structured option for visitors who prefer a recreation loop over a woodland trail.
Woodland trails, nature observation, pond access and the Fairy Trail extend the park beyond its athletic facilities.
Brundage Park Playhouse presents community productions and performing-arts programs. Check the current schedule before planning a theater visit.
Winter pond use: Ice skating at the Brundage pond is allowed only when township staff determine conditions are safe and a green sign is posted. A red sign—or no sign—means skating is not permitted.

Randolph trails & Fairy Trail
Randolph's trail system is one of the township's defining visitor assets. The 16-mile system connects parks, schools and neighborhoods and reaches Patriots' Path at Combs Hollow and Old Brookside. Trails are open year-round from dawn to dusk, with no snow or ice removal in winter.
Parking is available at 2 Bungalow Lane and 76 Carrell Road, with access to Brundage Park, the preserve and Fairy Trail.
Trail access from Millbrook Avenue and Doby Road links recreation areas with the wider municipal trail network.
The Clyde Potts and other Randolph trail segments connect into Morris County's broader Patriots' Path network.
Randolph Fairy Trail The Fairy Trail is a roughly half-mile gravel trail—about one mile round trip—near the Brundage Preserve pond. Fairy houses are made from natural materials, admission is free, parking is available, and the township lists the trail as open from dawn to dusk from May through November.

Randolph Lake & Park Beach
Randolph Park at 43 Green Lane provides the township's seasonal swimming destination. The municipal beach includes trained lifeguards, changing rooms, permanent lap-swimming docks, a concession stand, first aid, water-play features and paddle-boat and canoe rentals.
The beach operated weekends beginning May 23, then daily from June 15 through August 23, 2026, conditions permitting.
Membership and daily-access rules differ. Nonresident daily passes are not offered on weekends, so visitors should check eligibility before making plans.
Swimming is subject to weather, staffing and water-quality conditions. Check township updates before making a special trip.
Seasonal destination: As of September 1, the regular 2026 beach season has ended. Randolph Lake remains an important township park, but swimming access follows the published seasonal schedule.

Randolph Museum & local history
The Randolph Museum occupies the circa-1867 Trowbridge-Brundage House at 630 Millbrook Avenue, at the entrance to Freedom Park. Exhibits interpret local farming, industry, school life and the Mount Freedom resort era, when Randolph supported dozens of summer bungalow colonies.
The township currently lists the museum as open Sundays from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Historic displays preserve a period when summer hotels and bungalow colonies made western Randolph a seasonal destination.
Randolph's municipal landmark inventory includes historic houses, churches, meeting houses, mill sites and historic districts throughout the township.
County College of Morris
County College of Morris at 214 Center Grove Road adds another reason to visit Randolph. The campus hosts open houses, information sessions, performances, lectures, athletics and community programs in addition to its academic mission.
CCM offers information sessions, campus tours and open-house programs for prospective students and families.
The college calendar includes theater, visual arts and other public-facing cultural events during the academic year.
Conferences, workforce programs, athletics and special events bring visitors to the 222-acre campus throughout the year.

Getting to and around Randolph
Randolph is primarily a driving destination. Route 10 crosses the northern portion of the township, while Sussex Turnpike, Millbrook Avenue, Dover-Chester Road, Center Grove Road and local connectors provide access among neighborhoods, parks and commercial areas.
The most practical way to combine Brundage Park, Randolph Lake, CCM, Mount Freedom and dining during one visit.
Randolph has no passenger rail station. The township's circulation plan identifies Dover as the closest NJ TRANSIT rail station, with Morris Plains and Morristown also nearby.
Once parked, the Randolph trail network makes walking, running and biking between several parks and open-space areas possible.
Major parks and facilities provide on-site parking, but event parking can differ during festivals, performances and heavily attended programs.
Transit visitors: A train trip to Dover can get you close to Randolph, but most township attractions are not within convenient walking distance of the station. Plan a local ride or vehicle connection.
