Regular weekend excursions operate from May 2 through November 1, 2026, traveling south from Phillipsburg along the Delaware River toward historic Riegelsville.

The Susquehanna Mining Company experience combines the train ride with gem panning, a picnic grove and family activities at the mine stop.

The Warren County Winery Train combines the river excursion with a winery stop and tasting experience for eligible adult visitors.

The railroad also schedules themed trips such as fall pumpkin/corn-maze experiences and Polar Express holiday trains. Dates and departure times vary.

The nonprofit organization preserves local railroad equipment and artifacts and operates open-house events at its Pine Alley museum complex.

The group's miniature railroad collection is a distinctive family attraction during scheduled museum open houses and special events.

The Friends of the New Jersey Transportation Heritage Center owns and continues restoring the 1914 Union Station for museum, archive and community uses.

Phillipsburg remains an active railroad town. Freight lines around Union Station and the riverfront are working transportation corridors, so visitors should remain within designated public areas.

Historic portions of South Main, North Main, Hudson, Morris and Market streets and Union Square preserve Phillipsburg's railroad-era commercial architecture.

South Main Street supports local restaurants, bakeries, shops, salons, professional businesses and services rather than a suburban shopping-center environment.

Current market programming runs outdoors during the warmer season and shifts to a downtown indoor/winter location during the colder months. Confirm the current schedule before visiting.

Visitors interested in preservation can combine Union Square, South Main Street, Union Station and other historic properties into a compact self-guided walk.

The Northampton Street Toll-Supported Bridge carries both vehicle traffic and sidewalks between Phillipsburg and Easton and was extensively rehabilitated and relit in 2023.

Visitors can continue on foot to restaurants, shops, Centre Square, museums and Easton's downtown attractions without moving the car.

Easton's well-known family attraction makes a natural companion to a Phillipsburg railroad weekend, particularly for families with younger children.

The College Hill campus is another nearby Easton destination and helps support several boutique lodging choices across the river.

Privately owned reservoir open for low-impact public recreation including hiking, fishing, boating, wildlife observation and environmental education. It is not located in the Town of Phillipsburg.

The visitor center is currently open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., with exhibits, wildlife-viewing areas and educational resources.

Phillipsburg is a natural starting point for north-south drives along the Delaware toward Riegelsville, Belvidere, the Delaware Water Gap and other Warren County destinations.

Easton, Bethlehem and Allentown broaden the trip with museums, restaurants, entertainment, college campuses and additional lodging.

Phillipsburg maintains municipal parking around South Main Street, Union Square and Riverside Way. Meter, permit and event rules vary by lot, so use posted signs and current town information.

The town adopted a 2025 ordinance providing designated short-term free parking on South Main Street, useful for quick downtown stops.

The Northampton Street Free Bridge provides sidewalks between Phillipsburg and downtown Easton. It is one of the area's most useful visitor connections.

Bridge work can affect South Main Street traffic circulation in 2026. Follow current town and NJDOT detours rather than relying solely on an older navigation route.

Rail lines in Phillipsburg are active. Use marked crossings, museum grounds and designated visitor areas; never walk along or cross tracks outside authorized crossings.

NJ TRANSIT bus service and regional bus connections link Phillipsburg with Easton and other regional destinations. Construction can cause temporary route changes.
