Up to 3 Consecutive DaysEach permitted sale may run for as many as three consecutive days.

How to Submit a Classified

Choose the correct categoryUse the category that most accurately describes the item, notice, event or opportunity.
Write a factual descriptionInclude condition, approximate age, dimensions, quantity, price and any limitations or defects a reasonable person would need to know.
Use a safe contact methodProvide only contact information you are comfortable making public. Do not post sensitive financial or identity information.
Give the general locationBayville or a neighborhood/corridor is usually enough initially. A precise residence address should be published only when it is genuinely needed, such as an advertised garage sale.
Review the marketplace rulesListings involving prohibited, dangerous, misleading or unlawfully regulated items will not be accepted.
Remove expired postingsTell NJTGO when an item sells, an event ends or the notice is no longer active so the page remains useful.

What Makes a Useful Listing?

Specific Headline“Solid Oak Dining Table” is more useful than a vague headline such as “Furniture for Sale.”
Honest ConditionDisclose damage, missing parts, repair needs or known defects before arranging a pickup.
Clear PriceState a firm asking price, negotiable price, reasonable-offer language or “free.”
Pickup InformationExplain whether the item requires a truck, multiple people, disassembly or other special handling.
Current PhotosWhen photo-enabled posting options are available, images should show the actual item rather than catalog or manufacturer photos.
Expiration DateInclude an event date, sale date or reasonable expiration when a classified is time-sensitive.

Classified Safety

Meet Publicly When PossibleChoose a busy, well-lit public location during daylight hours and let another person know where you are going.
Inspect Before PayingConfirm condition, model numbers, serial numbers, ownership documentation and title information when appropriate.
Avoid Payment ScamsDo not participate in overpayment schemes, fake-check transactions, gift-card payments, cryptocurrency transfers or requests to forward money to another person.
Protect Financial InformationNever provide bank passwords, verification codes, PINs or unnecessary identity documents to a buyer or seller.
Vehicle TransactionsVerify the VIN, title, registration status and ownership before completing a vehicle sale, and follow current New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission requirements.
Home PickupIf a buyer must come to your home for a large item, consider having another adult present and limit access to areas unrelated to the transaction.
Berkeley Township Police: For emergencies call 911. Police Headquarters is at 631 Pinewald-Keswick Road in Bayville; the department's main non-emergency number is 732-341-1132.

Lost Pets & Animal Notices

Pet postings should focus on animal safety and reunification. Include species, breed or mix, color, approximate size, last-known location, date and distinguishing features while avoiding unnecessary ownership documents or personal information.

Lost PetGive enough detail for neighbors to recognize the animal and identify the area where it was last seen.
Found PetConsider withholding one identifying feature so someone claiming the animal can demonstrate legitimate knowledge.
Berkeley Animal ControlBerkeley Township currently lists Animal Control at 732-797-1413. Township animal-control officers can also be reached through municipal contacts.
Adoption NoticesLegitimate rescue and adoption notices may be considered, but NJTGO will not accept unsafe breeding, trafficking or unlawful animal-sale listings.

Roommates & Shared Housing

Roommate notices should describe the room or shared space, approximate location, rent, utilities, deposit, lease length, household expectations and move-in timing without using discriminatory preferences prohibited by fair-housing law.

Fair housing: NJTGO does not accept housing advertisements that unlawfully discriminate based on protected characteristics. Property-sale and rental advertising belongs on the Bayville Real Estate page.

Official Notices & Public Information

NJTGO community notices can complement official Township information, but should never replace it. Berkeley Township maintains live legal notices, pending and adopted ordinances, meeting notices, bid notices, public hearings and other government information online.
